Why do the wizards in Harry Potter only use Owl Post?

Author: I mean, they have to wait days or so for it to get to the other person, and then wait some more for a response. They know phones exist, so why don’t they use them?

Yeah..phones exist in the muggle world..not in the wizarding world. And using phones would take all the fun out of owls.
They really don’t have to wait that long to get the owls, they are magical, so they get there faster.
lol thts so true i never even though of tht and im a huge hp fan, but i wud think with phones as a wizard u can tap into them, just like this world, but with owls u cant… like hp wud keep in contact with sirius his godfather with his owl, to hide his hiding spot from the ministry of magic.
How lame would that be? It’s way cooler to have an owl crash into your window.
Wizards don’t use electricity. They talk about it in Book 4, when Hermione discovers Rita Skeeter actually “bugging” Hogwarts to get stuff for her articles. “All those substitutes for magic Muggles use . . . .”
Their wizard villages and facilities are hidden from muggles and, for the most part, they know little about the muggle world. If they got land line phones, they would have to have muggles actually coming to their towns and houses to install the lines. Since they want to remain hidden from muggles, they wouldn’t allow them to see their homes. Also, using owl post is just the way they have always done it and it seems to suit them.

cannot work in hogwarts due to high levels of magic
so they have to use Owl Post.
It’s a book, It should be exciting. Plus don’t you wish you could have an owl deliver your mail? Besides you also have to wait if you send your mail and have a postman or woman deliver it sometimes even a very long time and they do use phones
