According to what he said at his concert, he dreamt it.
It’s about a singer expressing his past and present experiences through his songs.
i actually really dont think it means anything. ive been noticing that some singers now r writing lyrics that dont mean anything! its ok though!!! i love the song!!! its my favorite!!!
It’s probably about dreaming or something along the lines of that. Since the lyrics only talk about fireflies showing up when he falls asleep, I’m guessing the fireflies represent dreams in some way.
Fireflies is about Adam living in his own world. Daydreaming and the world you see if you’re an insomniac. Its strange how different the world looks when everyone is asleep
Insomnia. That place you go before you fall asleep.
I think it’s about him missing his childhood, and not wanting to let go of it. That’s why the music video is full of toys. He is sort of disappointed that he grew up fast.
