Bill Green was Wednesday's Chief Scout at the time when Terry Yorath and his Assistant Manager Willie Donachie were given the boot. Green took charge for just one match, at home to Derby County, but was unable to change Wednesday's fortunes at the time and they trailed 3-0 before winger Matty Hamshaw scored a consolation goal for the Owls.

Chris Turner was then appointed as boss and Green resumed his duties behind the scene.
