Chris joined the Owls on a five month loan spell at the beginning of the 05/06 season. He was an exciting young out-and-out winger with bundles of pace and tricks. The talented product of the Manchester United youth academy had spent a season at Championship level the season before with Watford and, like his time with The Hornets, was a first team choice when available at Hillsborough.
Manageer Paul Sturrock felt Eagles had room for improvement, calling him 'naive' on occasions, but there's no doubt the Owls would love to have a player like Eagles on their books permanently. He scored three times in his 25 appearances for Wednesday with the most memorable a long range strike that gave the Owls victory over Yorkshire rivals Leeds United. |
