| Summed up in a few words... Guy was signed from local rivals Rotherham United and with a wealth of experience and known for his physical presence and grit he was expected to be a strong addition to then manager Chris Turner's squad. However after just 12 first team starts for the Owls Branston fell out of favour with newly appointed manager Paul Sturrock and was shipped out on loan to Peterborough United. In February 2005 Sturrock allowed Branston to move onto Oldham Athletic favouring Graeme Lee and Richard Wood as his centre-back pairing. Branston was also sent-off in his very brief spell as a Wednesday player. He was given an early bath for elbowing an opponent in a 4-2 defeat at Tranmere Rovers. |
