Summed up in a few words... Jon "Bez" Beswetherick was at Hillsborough for two seasons but will not go down in the history books as ever having done anything out of the ordinary. The left-back was a promising addition made to the squad by then manager Terry Yorath, after the Scouser born player had made over 125 appearances for Plymouth. However a mixture of injury and competition for his place through Derek Geary and Brian Barry-Murphy restricted him to just 12 first team starts during the 02/03 and 03/04 seasons. Beswetherick was one of 13 players who saw their contracts not renewed in May 2004 and left the club on a free transfer.
