| Chris Adamson was a number two goalkeeper who made 12 appearances for the club in three seasons. Paul Sturrock brought the shot stopper to Hillsborough as cover for Wednesday's number one at the time in David Lucas. With Ola Tidman's departure during December 2004 the Owls were left without a senior standby keeper, which is where Adamson came in. He got his big chance when Lucas hobbled off injured in a match against Blackpool in March, a game Wednesday went on to win 3-2. His days with the Owls appeared to be over when he was told he would not be offered a new deal at the end of May 2005. But amazingly Sturrock re-signed the player two months later having left himself short of cover for David Lucas heading into the 2005/06 season. Adamson made 5 appearances that season, and a further 5 the following season before new boss Brian Laws released the player on a free transfer and signed two new goalkeepers to the club. |
