Summed up in a few words...
Bullen's first season at Hillsborough was a dream come true. After having taken over the captaincy with the retirement of Chris Marsden, Bullen skippered the Owls to an exciting Play-Off Final victory over Hartlepool United and in doing so ending years of torment for Wednesday supporters.
A man with a "Never said die" attitude and a true leader Bullen is the man many of the younger players in the squad look up to. During the 2005/06 season Bullen played in every position for the Owls - that feat made possible when he slapped on the gloves in the all important 1-0 win at Millwall late in the season. A true utility player, Bullen received a number of awards for his sportsmanship during that season.
He continued his good work during the 2006/07 season and was rewarded with his third consecutive one year contract - and at 34 years old it's a deal that suits both player and club. |
