if it was just going dark then its fine, but if it was broad daylight there may be something worng with it. old owls sometimes hunt in the day because they cant fight off competition at night. also if an owl suffers from any eye wounds it may try to hunt in the daytime, they wont catch anything though, the likelyhood of finding and rescuing an owl when its injured is very unlikely, when you do find it, it would be so weak at that point its chances of survival are near to zero

Listen !!!! My Mom is a huge bird watcher and seen over 500 birds in her life and knows a lot about them!!!
We have barred owls in the woods near our house, on one day there were 2 sitting out there in the DAY!! AWESOME sight..
Nothing is wrong with them at all. They sometimes hunt during the day too..
OWLS DO NOT GET RABIES!! that is very very rare.
White owl is a snow owl and does not need to be a snow to be out during the day,

No I quite often see barn owls in broad daylight sitting like they’re waiting for something.

Quite rare. Maybe its very old & disoriented. If it was in a dense tree or other dim place, not so rare.

No it isn’t odd at all, I have seen numerous owls in the daytime. This doesn’t mean that they need help or that they are sick,It just means that it’s daytime and they aren’t ready to go to bed.But it’s not rare,Just as it’s not rare to see a raccoon or an opossum in the daytime.
