but they would tell me how much a sorex weighed .
unless im getting the comepltly wrong idea o:

Sorex…sorex… hmmm… sounds really familiar. Hey, isn’t that a herpes medicine?
There’s a range of variation from around 7 to 13 grammes* for adults of Sorex araneus, so 10g is a convenient compromise.

Another source, Reichholf, J (ca. 1983), Die farbigen Naturführer Säugertiere, Bertelsmann Club Ausgabe, offers a range of 4 to 16 grammes, so 10g will do for that as well. That’s for the same species.
For the Suisun Shrew (Sorex ornatus sinuosus) body mass ranges from 4.5 to 6.8 grams…
Sorex is pretty big genus.
