The instruments in the Trilogy is awesome. Gives me chills to hear him perform this song. I was born in 1956 and growing up with Elvis Music was great. What a great influence and what a KING he was. May his music live on for centuries to come. Glory Glory Hallelujah for sure.
All the so called “Idols” around the planet watch, enjoy and learn how to act as an artist, his stagepresence is outstanding and how he sing this is amazing, here you got the best example.
@roquey44 this is my army song when i everntually join up.im an elvis impersonator in my spare time.i just do charity gigs if i can manage to do so.i go on metro radio, sing elvis songs and get called elvis.its my way of paying tribute to the greatest ever singer.its not to compare me to elvis……but i want to keep the elvis spirit alive in my region and around the world.this is my favourite elvis song….jacko was good but you cant compare anybody to elvis presley
elvis was blessed.
Fucking brilliant, after all these years it still such a damn shame.
@roquey44 He only touched more because he was around longer and his music spread over more genres and eras. Elvis will always be the King of Rock, MJ holds the King of pop, each deserve a huge amount of respect.

my favourite song of him!
chadchap, I’m as black as the piss I take? What?
Grow up?
“Oh I wish I was in the land of cotton. . .” No black man is supposed to like a song with that line in it ’cause is speaks of a place that historically oppressed the black man. Having a black man sing “Dixie’ is akin to having a Klansman rap some Snoop Dog. But the song isn’t about Southern Pride. It’s about a man in a nasty war wishing he could see his family one last time.
Now, you grow up
chadchap, I’m as black as the piss I take? What?
@roquey44 was u around in the 50s. mike compare to elvis but not beatles. elvis and mj is my favorite i be listening to them every day, and how u gon say u not suppose to like this song, its one of his best.
was only one king and michael it was’t you
ddf14173 – AT ’72 – I’m sorry Elvis. There’s always something to apologize for, even when one doesn’t realize it. Your performances are so passionate, and my heritage and feelings about beautiful people, in the “performing industry,” is, well, sensitive. I take society’s opinions and consensus, very personally. It is one of my deep, long lasting heart aches. I might be perceived as a child to Jesus, or some love, greater. Public perception is out of my hands, for ever. I’m sorry. God bless
@roquey44 you are as black as the piss you take. Grow up..
Elvis did not write this song. Yes he did a great job on it and made it more famous; but please people listen to Mickey Newbury. He is one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time. He’s the mind behind countless hits and credit needs to be given where its due.
This song proves to everyone, what a genius Elvis was/is.
@roquey44 well said about this song my friend. This is my Dad’s fav song of all time I suspect and it always reminds me of him. Its big of you to see beyond the appalling behaviour that went on in Dixie all those years ago against black people. Those people are a scar on the history of humanity and they bring shame on me and all white people for their dispicable acts. All the best
G-d Bless Elvis!
