De Bilde's first as Owls scrape through Peterborough Utd 0-1 Wednesday - by Paul FarrantWednesday made it two wins out of two in their pre-season programme with a somewhat unconvincing 1-0 win over lowly Peterborough Utd. Gilles de Bilde, a recent £3m buy from PSV Eindhoven, scored his first goal in an Owls shirt in the 42nd minute - in what turned out to be the winning goal. It wasn't the greatest game you'll see the Owls play but it would be pleasing for manager Danny Wilson to have chalked up two wins so far. Furthermore, his new signing scored the winning goal with a close range shot just before the break. Half-time: Peterborough 0-1 Owls The second half saw Peterborough bring on a completely different team, while Wilson also brought on several other players. Wednesday held on for the win but what will be concerning for the Owls is the setback injuries to young defender Steve Haslam and Norwegian midfielder Petter Rudi, who were both substituted off during the game. |
