Match Report

A disastrous result for Wednesday as they crashed to 3rd Divison team Cambridge Utd. Danny Wilson warned the players before hand that they would have to work hard but only 3 mins into the game and Cambridge scored what turned out to be a winner. A backpass from Cobian was messed up by Pressman and Benjamin stole the ball and slotted it into an empty net.

A poor crowd of barely 9000 saw Wednesday miss chance after chance to score. Carbone had a few shots saved and in the 2nd half Cambridge somehow escaped when Atherton and Booth had the ball cleared off the line. DiCanio had a poor game and was somewhat greedy. Danny Wilson was fuming after the game and warned that they will have their work cut out next week when they travel to Abbey Stadium for the 2nd leg.
