Owls second string defeat Imps

Wednesday's first team may be struggling to find their feet in the league campaign but their Reserve side made it two wins from two with a comfortable 2-0 win at Lincoln City.

The Owls had the experience of Peter Gilbert and Lee Bullen in their defence with Yoann Folly, the hero in Wednesday's League Cup victory over Hartlepool this week, also given a full 90 minutes to sharpen his match fitness.

Gilbert played a hand in the game's opener in the 73rd minute as he pumped a long free-kick into the box. The Imps' defence struggled with the bouncing ball and Matt Bowman looped a header into the back of the net, his second strike in a row for the Reserves

The game was put beyond Lincoln's reach in the final five minutes when right-winger Dave McClements curled a wonderful free-kick past Duffy in the home goal.
