Four goal Haul for Reserves

The Owls Reserve side bounced back into form with a crushing 4-0 win over Hull City. Wednesday took advantage of the international break by fielding a strong line-up of first team fringe players in a starting line-up that featured just four teenagers in Mark Beevers, Rocky Lekaj, Sean McAllister and Luke Boden.

Boden bagged the first goal inside quarter of an hour and winger Etienne Esajas scored a second five minutes later. The flying Dutchman grabbed his second just minutes after half-time, his fifth goal for the Reserves this season, and a Wade Small strike five minutes from time was the icing on the cake for a superb performance that left Assistant Manager Russ Wilcox singing the praises of his side.

Wilcox verdict:

"It was probably one of the best team performances I have ever been involved with at reserve team level,"

"The attitude and application of our players was excellent and it was a tough game because Hull fielded a strong side including the likes of Caleb Folan, Henrik Pedersen, John Welsh from Liverpool and Stuart Elliott."

"We had a strong team too but I was most pleased by the way our lads went about it. The performance shows we have a lot of quality in the squad and if anyone in the first team takes their foot off the gas there are players queuing up to take their place."
