Richard the Brave as Owls steal point at the death

Owls defender Richard Wood scored with almost the last kick of the game against fellow strugglers Coventry City to steal a dramatic and important league point for Wednesday, who climb two places out of the relegation zone for their highest placing since New Years Day.

Sky Blues substitue Zavon Hines had punished Jermaine Johnson's poor touch of the ball in his own box to give the visitors the lead with only seven minutes left on the clock. But, with only seconds remaining, Wood connected on to Steve Watson's long throw into the box and with a flick of the head the young Wednesday defender sent the home faithful into raptures. It was only his fourth Wednesday goal in over 125 appearances for the club to date but certainly his most important.

Full report to follow.
