Adams in action, as young Owls thrashed

A very young Wednesday second string side were dealt a 3-0 spanking by local rivals Barnsley. The reserve side was missing goalkeeper Chris Adamson and midfielders Sean McAllister and Wade Small from the side that beat Stoke 2-1 last week. Adamson is guaranteed a start for the first XI tomorrow against Wrexham, as the on loan Brad Jones is cup tied, whilst McAllister is likely to cover for the injured Small.

The Owls were 2-0 down at the break and whilst they put in a better effort in the second period they couldn't stop The Tykes adding a third. One positive on the night was the return to action for Steve Adams, albeit only for 45 minutes.
