Laws luck continues at Carrow Road

Nothing can go wrong for Brian Laws and Wednesday at the moment. They got lucky at Carrow Road but the Owls ran out 2-1 winners after a frantic final ten minutes of play eventually saw them record their third straight league win.

The Owls took the lead with ten minutes left on the clock after inspirational centre-back Madjid Bougherra's long range effort rebounded off the crossbar and onto Canaries' keeper Lee Camp before eventually ending up in the net. Wednesday didn't rely entirely on lady luck to win this one though as a second strike a few minutes later doubled their advantage when Deon Burton scored his first goal in almost three months.

If you thought that was game, set and match you were wrong. The home side were right back in it on just two minutes later when converted centre-back Dion Dublin found himself in an all too familiar position in the opposition penalty box to sneak a lifeline. Further drama followed when in injury time referee Woolmer awarded Norwich a penalty before changing his mind on advice from his linesman. The referees assistant had spotted an offside.

They don't come tighter than this but the Owls are flying with this their seventh win in ten since Paul Sturrock left the club.

Laws verdict:

"My ambition is the same as any player, I want to ply my trade at the highest level. But this is a building process, we have to get into the position where we are a good Championship side and move on from there."

"If we keep improving, as some stage we'll get there, when that will be, I can't tell you."
