Burton ends bad run

The Owls claimed their first point of 2007 after a 1-1 draw at Burnley ended a run of five straight defeats in the league for Brian Laws' men.

Wednesday welcomed experienced defender Steve Watson, on loan from West Brom until the end of the season, into the side for his debut in place of 17 year old Mark Beevers. Yoann Folly replaced the injured Glenn Whelan in midfield whilst Steve MacLean was given a starting place ahead of Marcus Tudgay.

Laws verdict:

"I'm disappointed we didn't take all three points but after the run we've been on this result can kick-start us."

"We needed to stop the rot and in terms of results we've done that. We've got five games coming up, all against teams below us, so we need to kick on from here."
