Match Report

Even stevens at The City Ground

The Owls and Nottingham Forest fought out a draw in the Pontins League Cup Group encounter at The City Ground in what was a fiesty affair.

Forest had taken the lead on the half hour mark when Felix Bastians converted Kevin James' free kick past Chris Adamson in the Wednesday goal. Ten minutes later and Wednesday were level. Danny Reet bagged his 5th goal of the season when he was on the end of a Richard Evans free-kick.

The game was hotly contested in the second half - unusual but encouraging for a game at this level. After just one point from two Pontins League Cup Group matches the Owls must now beat Scunthorpe United on 5 December to progress into the knockout stages.

Half-time: Forest 1-1 Owls
