Owls relieve worries with three points from Preston

Match Report coming soon...

Half-time: Owls 1-0 Preston

Paul Sturrock post match comments:
"For half an hour we thought we'd never seen a football in our lives before, the apprehension and worry. Then we scored. I had a rant at them at half-time and they did all the things I asked and we came out with the result. To be fair, they took the criticism at half-time. They won their headers and cleared their lines."

Billy Davies (Preston manager) post match comments:
"That is up there in the top three of poor performances since I came here. We had far too many players who didn't turn up or performed badly and we've had a bad day at the office. We've not created enough chances, although we've had lots of possession. Credit where credit's due but we get no credit today."

Burton O'Brien post match comments:
Over the past couple of weeks our performances have been very most improved but we never got the results. We never played as well as we have in recent weeks against Preston but we managed to get three points and that's what it's all about. It was about time I got a goal. I'm disappointed not to have scored before this but its come in the end and I'm delighted to get it. It is probably one of the harder chances I've had but I managed to take it."

"The win's given us a massive lift. I think everyone at the club realises how big a three points that might be but it's only one game, we still have a few games to go and have to now look to getting three points next week."
