Second string back to winning ways
This from the official site:
Mark Smith was happy to see the reserves get back to winning ways
at Walsall on Monday. The Owls second string collected their fifth
win in six games after Matt Hamshaw and Jon Shaw struck at the Bescot,
earning Wednesday the points after the hosts had taken a first-half
lead.
Half-time: Walsall 0-1 Owls
Mark Smith's post match comments:
"It was a good result. We went 1-0 down but managed to get
one back before half-time. Hammy got the one in the first half after
good work by Glenn Whelan. He closed their centre half down, took
the ball off him and Hammy had a clean run on goal and finished
it."
" That settled us down a bit and in the second half we did
a lot better as regards energy, endeavour and closing down. Jon
had a couple of chances, then Richard Evans shot, the keeper spilled
it and Jon was on the spot to tuck in the rebound."
" The likes of Graeme Lee, Richard Evans, Richard Wood came
back and there was another game for Matt Hamshaw, Kim Olsen and
Craig Armstrong. That's pleasing."
