Owls brush aside Bantams

The Owls Reserve side picked up it's second successive win with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Yorkshire rivals Bradford City. Colin West's young side were level at the break but found their form in the second half with three unanswered goals.

Danish striker Kim Olsen made his first showing in a Wednesday shirt this season as a second half substitute, after having just recovered from a knee injury.

This report from the Official SWFC website:

The Owls reserves collected their second victory in less than a week in convincing style at Bradford City. Wednesday ran out 4-1 winners at Valley Parade thanks to goals from Liam Needham, David Cockerill, Luke Foster and Jon Shaw. Needham put Colin West's side ahead just eight minutes in with a low effort which flew through a group of players and went in off the post.

Kevin Sanasy levelled for Bradford on 38 minutes but SWFC restored their lead a minute into the second half as Cockerill blasted home a screamer from 30 yards out. With the Owls now in the driving seat, they were in no mood to relinquish their grip on the game and Foster increased the advantage on 56 minutes.

The centre back was in the right place to convert Paul Smith's cross after fine work by Guylain Ndumbu. Shaw rounded things off with a lob from Ndumbu's centre and another boost came in the form of a substitute run-out for Kim Olsen on his return from a knee operation.

Half-time: Bradford 1-0 Owls
