Peacock's first enough The Owls continued their solid pre-season performances with a 2-1 win away to York City. Former Grimsby Town boss Paul Groves gave City an early lead, but goals from Chris Brunt (22nd) and a first in an Owls shirt for new signing Lee Peacock (69th) were enough to seal a win for Wednesday. Turner fielded a near full strength side and ensured players were rested with three half-time substitutions and a further three later in the second half. It was York's third successive pre-season defeat whilst the Owls remain undefeated, aside from a penalty shoot-out loss to Watford in the final of the Copa de Ibiza. Half-time: York
1-1 Owls
