Carlton's County comeback as Owls get home jitters
again A 16th minute bullet header from Shefki Kuqi got them on their way. The Finnish international returned to the side to mark his fifth goal of the season against his former team mates. Alan Quinn grabbed the second in the 31st minute after Paul Smith had unselfishly headed to a player in a better position to allow the Irish midfielder his third of the season. But County substitute Aaron Wilbrahim turned the game around just 18 seconds in the second goal. Some sloppy defending from the Owls allowed him to squeeze the ball past Kevin Pressman, and set give County a way back into the game. This would have left manager Chris Turner furious knowing all too well a third Wednesday goal would have killed the game off. And they had only themselves to blame. The home side blew a number of good scoring opportunities in the second half. Shefki Kuqi was guilty of this on a few occasions. Two former Owls in Aaron Lescott and Owen Morrison returned to Hillsborough, and it was the later who caused the Owls most havoc. But he and former team mate Alan Quinn were lucky not to be sent off after they ended up in an onfield fight. Both players were booked in the incident that involved several players. Moments later County manager, and also former Wednesday man, Carlton Palmer substitured Morrison much to the young Irishman's disgust. With just 14 minutes remaining County grabbed the equaliser. Ali Gibb's crossed was turned in by super sub Wilbrahim for his second of the game and County's comeback was complete. The visitors had fought hard for their point, but from a Wednesday perspective should never have been allowed that chance. The Owls remain 2nd in the table despite only picking up a point. They now face two away games at the other end of the country in Bournmouth (Tues 16/9) and Brighton (Sat 20/9). Half-time: Owls 2-0 Stockport Good points...
