Rangers promoted, Owls left to pick up the pieces Furlong doubled his side's lead two minutes after the break, controlling Mark Bircham's cross to spin and blast the ball past Kevin Pressman. Wednesday were given hope when Lewis McMahon drove forward from midfield to set up Jon Shaw, who drilled a sweet first time shot under the diving Lee Camp. But Rangers' two-goal lead was restored shortly after when Rowlands'
left-wing cross was sliced into his own net by Wednesday substitute
centre-back Chris Carr. At the final whistle, the QPR fans' jubilation
contrasted with the dark mood of the home supporters, who booed
their team off before invading the pitch to protest against chairman
Dave Allen. AnzOwls verdict: A sorry end to a sorry season. Chris Turner
has a lot of work to do if we're ever to get out of Division Two.
