Sorry second half sums up season for Owls This report from TeamTalk.com: Wednesday opened the scoring when Jon Shaw took advantage of a defensive mix-up to head home his first senior goal. Then luckless Luton keeper Dean Brill was left stranded again when a deflection allowed Wednesday winger Terry Cooke to fire into an empty net. Luton came out fired up after the restart and pulled a goal back when Howard converted Stephen O'Leary's cross for his 15th goal of the season. Provider O'Leary then turned scorer when visiting defender Dean Smith headed Kevin Foley's cross into his path. And a minute into added time Howard secured the points when he scrambled the ball home after good work by Enoch Showunmi. But, after a drab start to the second half, Blackpool lifted themselves
with Sheron's second - a deflected effort - and Donnelly and Martin
Bullock combined to set up Murphy late on. Chris Turner's most match comments: "We lost because we aren't strong enough. We can't handle a battle in this division. We've some talented players but to get out of this division you need strength, power and character. This isn't the first time this season we've lost after being in a commanding position." AnzOwl's verdict: From 2-0 up at half-time this is a game we should never have lost. |
