Blackpool crush Owls LDV dreams

Wednesday's only hope of success this season came to an abrupt end as Blackpool cruised into the LDV Vans Trophy final, played at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, 3-0 on aggregate. Chris Turner's injury depleted side suffered more agony on the night as Ola Tidman limped off after 35 minutes. It was also later revealed new signing Kim Olsen suffered sever bruising on his leg, and will be out for a couple of weeks.

The contest was all but over when Blackpool opened the scoring in the 20th minute, as Sheron fired past an unstoppable shot past Tidman to give the visitors the lead, and a two goal cushion on aggregate.

A second Seasider's goal 11 minutes later all but assued their place in the LDV final.

Turner was left to rue what might have been for the Owls, whose fans were once again left frustrated and empty handed.

Half-time: Owls 0-2 Blackpool
