U's pile on misery for Turner & co. Sheffield Wednesday have now had just one win from their last eight games as Joe Keith's goal was enough to give Colchester a 1-0 victory. Keith sealed the points with a fine effort from just outside of the area which flew into the top left-hand corner of Kevin Pressman's net. Wednesday's Paul McLaren, Alan Quinn and Mark Robins all had efforts on target while Colchester were also denied further goals by goalline clearances. A header from Colchester skipper Alan White was heading for the net, but Derek Geary was on hand to head the ball away from under the bar. And Pressman, under pressure from Kem Izzett, later dropped a Scott McGleish cross and had to be rescued by Richard Wood, who hacked the ball clear. why I threw Michael (Reddy) on."
