Match Report

Holt and Owusu star in Bees' victory

The Owls seemingly got back on the tracks last weekend with a convincing 3-0 win at Brentford. A Grant Holt brace, the youngster's first goals of the season, and a third from Lloyd Owusu sealed Wednesday's second run on the trot. Owusu hit fine form on the visit to his former club, and his second half bullet header was justice for his best performance of the season. It certainly sent a message to his bosses Turner & West on the sideline, who have looked at getting rid of him in recent weeks.

Holt's two goals ensured positions for the four strikers at the club have hottened up since Shefki Kuqi's shock loan move to Ipswich. Adam Proudlock is yet to score in six games since signing, whilst Guylain Ndumbu-Nsunbu has shown promising signs of things to come. The win for Wednesday shot them back up into fourth spot in the table, with a tough away fixture to Turner's former club Hartlepool United next weekend.

Half-time: Brentford 0-2 Owls

Chris Turner's most match comments:
"We were very hard working and that's what you want away from home. In the first 20 minutes they pushed us back, but we defended well and David Lucas looked very accomplished in goal. I'm also pleased for both strikers, particularly Lloyd Owusu who answered his critics with this performance."

Good points...
The Owls make it 2 wins out of 2. Seemingly back on track after a bad couple of weeks.
Grant Holt bags two goals - a big morale booster for the young man.
Lloyd Owusu sends a clear message to the sideline with his performance and goal.

Bad points...
Shefki Kuqi's back stabbing comments in midweek.
