Ndumbu double earns Owls derby win Congolese striker Guylain Ndumbu scored twice as Sheffield Wednesday triumphed 2-1 in their South Yorkshire derby against Barnsley. After Owls keeper Kevin Pressman had denied Alex Neil and Daniel Nardiello superbly early on, Ndumbu opened the scoring against the run of play in the 36th minute. A long throw was headed on and Ndumbu chested the ball down before swivelling and firing home. Wednesday's Graeme Lee headed narrowly wide soon afterwards, but Ndumbu grabbed his second goal of the game on 56 minutes. David Murphy was caught in possession and Ndumbu advanced into the area before slipping the ball past Marlon Beresford. Ndumbu then stabbed a hat-trick chance wide under pressure from Beresford, before Robbie Williams pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in the 74th minute after Brian Barry-Murphy's illegal challenge on Antony Kay.
