Owls pick up the points in rollercoaster Dons win

This report by BigOwl:

CT picked Lloyd Owusu up front alongside Lee Bradbury to start up front and looked up for the challenge straight away. In what turned out to be a 100 mile an hour end to end game Lloyd was cruelly denied only his second goal of the season by some dire linesmanship as his second header from a corner hit the back of the net only to see the flag unjustly raised.

Owusu was denied an opening for a one on one when put clean through only for said linesman to again make a poor judgement and flag him offside. The Owls were the better side in the first half although not by a convincing margin but went in 1-0 up as Michael Reddy put the Owls ahead with five minutes left of the first half.

Half-time: Owls 1-0 Wimbledon

A mix up in the Dons defence in the opening stages of the second half allowed Owusu to smack the ball into an empty net from the edge of the box but as usual the joy was short lived. Firstly the Dons broke through and although the striker shot very tamely along the ground, Pressman somehow allowed the ball to roll through and under his hands for a howling error and Wimbledons first goal.

Just two minutes later Agyemang took on the left side of Wednesdays defence and stepped past them with ease to blast a close range shot past Pressman and make it all square at 2-2. Pressman did make a good fingertip save to partly redeem himself soon after.

Instead of heads going down the Owls went back at Wimbledon and wave after wave of Blue and White attacks were repelled by some stout defending and a couple of fine saves from the Dons keeper to deny Owusu.

However the breakthrough had to come and another pacy run to the by-line by Reddy brough a perfect cross which Owusu smacked into the net with a powerful header 3-2. Again Owusu was foiled by the Dons keeper but we continued to attack.

A great move down the left hand side saw the ball played up to Owusu who beat his man to the header and flicked it on to Bradbury who held on to get past his man and as the keeper advanced Bradbury slipped the ball under the keeper to make it 4-2 to the Owls.

Kuqi, Holt and Haslam replaced Owusu, Bradbury and Quinn. All three went off to standing ovations. This was a big big win but again probably too late to save us. The plus side was the massive performance by several players who hopefully will still be with us next season.

Ratings:
Pressman: 5/10 - I rate Evans a better keeper. Im ready to see him offloaded.
Westwood: 8/10 - Another cracking performance with no mistakes for a player starting to be reborn under Turner.
Smith: 7/10 - His solidity bodes well for next season whichever division we are in.
Maddix: 7/10 - Looks a better player with Smith alongside him.
Barry-Murphy: 6/10 - Not the best game but did hack one off the line.
Evans: 7/10 - Needs to believe in himself but has the potential to go far. Great corners.
Quinn: 7/10 - Not as impressive as of late but got through a huge amount of work.
McLaren: 7/10 - Kept going the entire game.
Reddy: 7/10 - Not his best game but his goal and electric pace caused huge problems.
Bradbury: 8/10 - Great hold up work and mountains of graft deserved his goal.
Owusu: 9/10 - If he did this every week our problems would be over. His intelligent running, pace and much better first touch showed what he has in his locker. Deserved at least a hat-trick, cruelly denied by a terrible decision by the linesman Lloyd deserved the crowds upturned hands as they emulated his celebratory gesture! M.O.M
