Trelleborgs no trouble for Owls

This report from the TeamTalk website...

A Tony Crane brace and one each for Gerald Sibon and Craig Armstrong saw The Owls cruise to a 4-1 win against a Trelleborgs XI on Thursday. Having drawn 1-1 with FC Copenhagen on Tuesday night, Terry Yorath persisted with the 3-5-2 formation he intends to use this season.

Sibon fired Wednesday ahead on 12 minutes with a fierce drive from just inside the box, and 8 minutes after the break, Crane headed the second.

Half-time: Trelleborgs 0-1 Owls

Crane again headed his second and The Owls' third on 70 minutes, and five minutes later Armstrong made it four from close range. The home side grabbed a late consolation goal as the Owls used all 21 players, introducing 10 substitutes at half-time - Leon Knight was the only Wednesday player to last the full 90 minutes.

New signing Jon Beswetherick, making his first appearance in an Owls shirt, caught the eye with a fine performance at left wing-back, creating two of the goals on the night. Wednesday complete their three-match tour of Scandinavia with a game against Ystads on Saturday.
