Killie kill Owls unbeaten run This report from the TeamTalk website... Sheffield Wednesday suffered their first defeat of pre-season, losing 2-1 against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Saturday. The Owls started well and dominated much of the first half-hour against their Scottish Premier League opponents. But it was the home side who took the lead in the 33rd minute when Alan Mahmood drilled a volley past Kevin Pressman after Wednesday had failed to clear a corner. Within two minutes Terry Yorath's men were level when Paul McLaren
fired home. The game was won in the 65th minute when former Rangers and Scotland
striker Gary McSwegan headed home. Wednesday fought hard to get
back into the game and Leon Knight and Shefki Kuqi both went close
to an equaliser in the closing stages.
