Owls earn deserved point from high flying Wolves It might've been third from top versus third from bottom - but there was nothing between the sides come full time at Molineux Stadium infront of live ITV Sport cameras. Wolves were boo'ed off the field at half-time and full-time, their supporters disgusted with their lacklustre display, but for the Owls it was a hard earned point on the road to recovery. A draw wasn't enough to take Wednesday out of the bottom three, although now just three points stands between them and Rotherham United who sit five places above them in the table. Wolves moved into second, a point ahead of Crystal Palace, but still two points adrift of suprise league leaders Burnley. For Terry Yorath and Willie Donaghy, their first game in charge together, it was a rewarding afternoon. Owls skipper Trond Egil-Soltvedt spoke in midweek of the discipline Yorath has brought back into the squad, and that has been there for all to see in the past two games with two strong defensive displays and two clean sheets. The Owls now have six days before former Owl Carlton Palmer, who played over 260 games in the blue and white shirt, brings his new Stockport County side to Hillsborough. Another former Wednesday player in Aaron Lescott will also make the journey, after having signed for County last week for £75,000. This match report from the TeamTalk website: Terry Yorath began his full-time reign as Wednesday boss with a deserved point at high-flying Wolves as the clash at Molineux ended goalless. The Owls defended resolutely throughout, restricting Wolves to half chances, and could have snatched victory had strong penalty appeals not been turned down when Joleon Lescott appeared to foul Owen Morrison. Gerald Sibon also missed a good chance near the end, heading over from close range. Yorath had to make do without Danny Maddix, who was suspended, with Morrison returning to the side after a calf strain. The home side made the better start when Lescott mis-kicked in front of goal before Newton's tempting cross was just too high for Adam Proudlock in the centre. Newton then tested Kevin Pressman but the Wednesday keeper saved comfortably from the winger's left-foot shot. After weathering the early storm, The Owls almost snatched the lead themselves with Gerald Sibon shooting just wide from 20 yards, before Morrison also tried his luck from distance on the half hour but dragged his effort wide of the post. Half-time: Wolves 0-0 Owls Wednesday had to reshuffle for the start of the second half with Ashley Westwood going off injured - replaced by Steve Hamshaw - which forced Trond-Egil Soltvedt to drop back into defence. Wolves enjoyed a lot of possession but it was Wednesday who looked dangerous on the counter attack. One break led to the penalty incident which saw Morrison booked for diving before Wolves then let Wednesday off the hook themselves with Roussel volleying into the side netting from close range after losing his marker on the far post. Dave Jones threw on Michael Branch in an attempt to win the game but it was Wednesday, through Sibon's header, who could have pinched all three points. Neither side could muster a last-minute winner, with Wednesday picking up a valuable point in their fight against the drop.
